pulled into dargo after a long days ride soaking wet after riding through rivers and rain . the staff were really welcoming upon arrival. i booked a room at inn across the road that they manage . rooms did the job nicely with comfortable beds , good shower, heating/cooling . i had a feed at the pub and it was huge and cooked to perfection . ill be aiming to be back there just to soak in the great atmosphere there !
What more can you say, an iconic pub in the high country, an absolute must travel to for all serious four wheel drivers. The food is amazing (seriously, how many variations on parma can you have). Bar staff are locals and not everything that you come to expect from a small country town. The locals are hilarious, the atmosphere is terrific. You have not been to the high country if you haven't dropped in here for a drink, a feed and a camp behind the pub.
Visited Dargo for the first time to see what the hype was all about, first thing was it took forever to be served at the bar they kept going back to the regulars. Came back for dinner and ordered food that was over priced, I love my parmas and this one was disappointing and couldn’t even finish it as it was so soggy and hard like it was cooked from frozen, ordered drinks only to keep getting charged different prices for the same drink and when asked why was charged $18 for one drink and $13 for another only to be told they are meant to be $12 they didn’t offer a refund or even a free drink was rudely asked if I want another one or not, the next time ordered the fettuccine carbonara only for it to be completely bland and used the wrong pasta, I then spent the next day on the toilet non stop and throwing up. Definitely won’t be visiting again
We enjoyed our meal at the Pub, good steak, great Parmy. Good choice of beers.
We stayed in a log cabin, it was cold inside, the AC barely took the -3 out of the air, lucky for the electric blanket, good hot shower.

Last weekend, me and 6 of my friends came up to celebrate my mates bucks party. We came and had tea, food looked absolutely amazing, unfortunately tasted horrible.
We all spent a great amount of money and sat out the front trying to enjoy a drink, we all were keeping quiet , one of the workers came out the front and questioned every single person about why we were there and what we had planned for the night and to
Keep away from everyone and made us feel very unwelcome. Told us to leave and to keep to ourselves?. Not quite sure why as we all were keeping to ourselves. The pub itself is unreal. The service and food was questionable
Iconic pub in the Victorian High Country. Well worth a visit. 👌
This pub has so much character that it's hard to put in words. Bar keeps are very friendly and love a chat. Beers are cold, and food is hot. And you can camp in their back paddock with the sheep. There is plenty to explore in the area, and the Vic High Country bekons. Stop in. It's worth it. It was a little chilly over the weekend so make sure you have warm clothes and sleeping arrangements. The wind was also howling through town during the night, so make sure you use big pegs for the tent.
First time visit and won’t be the last visit. The scotch fillet plate… was the best I’ve ever had… I’ve been around Victoria and into Adelaide, this beats them all… thank you to chef and staff
